Review Copies — The History Unlimited Bookshop We are happy to review and include new titles that fit in with the categories and general thrust of our Bookshop pages, and are of appropriate depth and quality. A necessary prerequisite is that titles should be stocked by Amazon UK. Given that space is limited and that our coverage strategy is continually evolving, publishers are advised to contact the Managing Editor with details of new titles in the first instance. (Our e-mail address can be found at the foot of this page.) Review copies should be sent to the following address. Please note that the submission of a review copy does not guarantee inclusion on this site.

If you have reached this web site via Yahoo Answers …. We hope that you found our answer to your question useful. You may wish to pursue your interest further by browsing the pages, reviews, comment and MP3 clips on this site. Use the navigation bars to visit our Bookshop, Film Store or Blues and Jazz pages. All of the featured book titles, films and albums link directly to Amazon, from where you can make a purchase, completely independently of History Unlimited. The Home pages of our four stores provide guides to content and organisation, together with basic information on ordering. We will continue to visit Yahoo Answers regularly (as time allows) and select those Questions where we feel we have something useful to contribute. Look out for ‘Merlin’ and our Bookshop icon avatar.

History Unlimited Site Development There has been a major revamp of the Jazz Store pages to allow for more content; brief biographical details of featured artists will be added over time. The Ragtime section and the Modern Jazz sections (BeBop & Cool) are now split over two pages. The last features many new artists including Lionel Hampton, Charles Mingus, Art Blakey, Cannonball Adderley, The Modern Jazz Quartet and more. Two new pages cover the 1920s to 1940s - from Dixieland to the Big Bands and Swing. The range is from The Original Dixieland Jazz Band and the New Orleans Rhythm Kings; through Louis Armstrong, Bix Beiderbecke and Sidney Bechet; to Jack Teagarden, Duke Ellington and Count Basie. Artists on our music pages are ordered by birth date. Each page lists featured artists at its head. A sample MP3 clip has been included for each artist, as far as possible from an album included in our selection. We are conscious that many omissions remain, but will be adding to the music pages as site development continues. New films and books are added to the site at regular intervals. We are currently building a small section on ‘China — Birth of an Empire’. This is the latest addition to the coverage of major civilisations on our Ancient World page. The following titles are currently being reviewed. Review postings are expected to be in place in September/October 2010.
“The unification of China under the Qin dynasty in 221 BCE marked the end of the 250 year long period of the Warring States. Although short lived, the Qin Dynasty laid the foundations of subsequent imperial houses and gave China its name.”
